Have you been a singer in the past, and had recently lost your voice? WE CAN HELP!!

Image
I have more and more inquiries from people who used to sing for some time in the past; and suddenly, (or at least so they thought), lost their singing range and some of them even lost their singing voice altogether . Now they are older and in their 40s (and counting), and they still cannot get a grip on the notion that their love and joy of singing might never be present again...? Quite a few years later after the occurrence, they had been still upset and even depressed about it.   Of course, they had been through numerous visits to doctors, speech therapists, pathologists and nevertheless many vocal coaches. However, in the majority of cases, it did not add up to any tangible, needless to say, expected results. With the above said, since they had lost their love and joy to be able to sing effortlessly and painlessly, their lives were never the same. Their passion and desire for expressing themselves, (telling their stories and expressing their emotions through singing), ha

Suffering from voice disorders like Sulcus Vocalis, Muscle tension Dysphonia or, perhaps, even Spasmodic Dysphonia? We can help!

We specialize in a unique form of voice restoration and enhancement - designed for those who suffer from voice disorders, vocal disorders, vocal cord damage and speaking and singing voice problems overall. Since 1984, we have serviced over an estimated 25,000 (combined) students and clients who have been coming to us for non-surgical voice repair sessions and treatments. The school originally started as The Royans School for the Musical Performing Arts. Since 1987, we started specializing in singing and speaking only. We stopped teaching piano, guitar, violin and other instruments. So, given that, the school got renamed to the Royans Professional Vocal School . In 1989, I myself acquired an, evidentially, emotionally-induced vocal problem. I have to say that, at first, I had tried to rectify that problem via help offered by medical professionals - but, unfortunately, to no avail. Luckily, by a company named Nature’s Sunshine, I was addressed to a place which used

Vocally Speaking: Would Your Prefer To Fix Your Voice, Or Would You Rather Suffer From Permanent Voice Loss?

Image
Lately, more and more, we are getting phone calls and e-mails from people who have been suffering from various voice disorders, and moreover, suffering for many years! Needless to say, that with time, (10, 20 or even 30 years later) for some reason, their voices did not get cured or even properly treated for that matter; and nevertheless, their voices did not sound any better then at the beginning of their voice/vocal ordeal; rather, in majority of cases, much worse . In fact, many of them claimed that the quality of their voices became more compromised from the time when their voice issues had originally began. So the question then is… Why these people, suffering for numerous years, never put a handle on their voice disorder? I think the answer is that there is not much help available with respect to nonsurgical voice repair , which actually (in most cases) will produce tangible results. The other reason is that people are absolutely unaware of what’s happ

Vocally Speaking: Would you go to a Car Body Shop (instead of a car garage) to fix your car’s engine or transmission for that matter?

Image
The answer is… if (God forbid) you were involved in a car accident and the body of your car got damaged, you would probably need to go to a body shop…. wouldn’t you? However, on the other hand, if your engine or transmission were acting up, then you definitely would want to check with a qualified mechanic who, nevertheless, specializes in “car mechanics arts” in a manner of speaking. One of my prospective clients had been diagnosed with two (nevertheless) voice disorders, which are clearly of a mechanical nature, as one of them is Muscle Tension Dysphonia and the other is named Sulcus Vocalis (unhealthy gap between the vocal cords). Both of those voice issues are caused by a misuse of the voice i.e., by straining the vocal cords and pushing/pulling the voice out onto the surface; and instead, by default, placing it right into the neck muscles. Needless to say, during those actions, Muscle Tension Dysphonia had been initiated. Meanwhile, the strained vocal co

Sulcus Vocalis (Vocal Cords Gap). How Could It Be Dealt With Employing Unconventional Vocal Science™ Method and its Revolutionary Voice/Vocal Technique?

Image
We, at The Royans Institute for Non-Surgical Voice Repair (luckily not too often), have been getting inquiries from speakers (professional and non-professional) as well as singers, who were experiencing the nasty symptoms and then, concurrently, had gotten diagnosed with a voice disorder named  Sulcus Vocalis .  Those sufferers usually experience a raspy/hoarse voice. They can also sound as if they even stutter a little (due to the enlarged gap between their vocal cords). That is because the sound of their voice (in a manner of speaking) falls in between their vocal cords/folds. Evidently, the timing of the vocal cords opening and closing (on certain occasions) does not always correspond with the actual voice formation. And, thus, the above-described symptoms are prevalent. By that point, the “alignment” between the subconscious mind, conscious mind, physical body and the actual voice, becomes exponentially challenged!   Actually, the total aim of the above described is to estab

Sulcus Vocalis (Vocal Cords Gap) - How Could it be Dealt with Employing Unconventional Methods and Techniques?

Lately, more and more, we are getting inquiries from people concerned with their speech and/or singing problems; All of whom have been diagnosed with a voice disorder named Sulcus Vocalis. While being diagnosed with such a nasty voice disorder as Sulcus Vocalis, those sufferers usually possess a raspy and hoarse voice, which, sometimes, can even sound like a little stutter. The latter is usually caused by the enlarged gap located between the vocal cords (folds), and thus the sufferer's voice falls frequently between them.  In fact, the timing of the vocal cords opening and closing, in those cases, often does not correspond with the voice occurrence.  Naturally, it does require the “alignment” between the subconscious mind, conscious mind, physical body and the voice as an outcome.  All of the above is aimed to achieve the desired “alignment”, between the above-mentioned components and thus, to put the balance back in order. That could be accomplished by using specifically advo

Vocal Cord Paralysis: Could It Be Treated or, Furthermore, Cured?

Image
Vocal Cord Paralysis (Paresis) is a very serious voice disorder . If there are (God Forbid) both vocal cords paralyzed, (which means there is no movement whatsoever happening between them), there is not much (if at all) that could be done to bring those vocal cords to their normal working order. The person who suffers from that horrible voice condition, practically, is mute, as he/she cannot formulate any words. It is indeed very sad! A few years ago, a handsome executive-looking Asian man walked in through my office doors. Luckily, his wife was accompanying him; as otherwise, I would not be able to understand anything what he was trying to say. She told me that her husband had an operation performed on his thyroid when he had, what doctors thought, a benign lump. After this first surgery, one of his vocal cords got paralyzed . At that time he, apparently, still could talk; however already, with great difficulty. Then, a year later, he was diagnosed

Voice Repair – Love Yourself, Love Your Voice, Help Yourself!

Do not ever give up hope! Do not ever listen to the, so-called medical professionals prompting you to accept your voice condition and learn how to live with it! How pathetic is that?   Those medical professionals do not offer any solutions and could not care less that you had spent most of your life on stage singing and do not know, or want, any other lifestyle, but the one you like and love. One of our former clients (throat cancer survivor) was told exactly that and was encouraged to be thankful to be alive. Meanwhile, that very client had spent over 45 years on stage playing guitar and singing in a rock band. After C hemo and R adiation, his fingertips lost the sensation of touch and his voice was forever raspy and hoarse, (both speaking and singing). How frustrating could that be? My answer would be : A bove and B eyond !   Even though my client was suggested to accept it and “ be happy to be alive !"   H e certainly did not want to follow that guidance. To his credit,

We, (operating under the “Royans Universe”), feel quite safe to travel to you to fix your voice .
